Grazing
Many people envision a dove with an olive branch while day dreaming about a peaceful world. We envision a field of grazing cows.
Our Girls
Our girls are Jersey cows. They come from the Island of Jersey, a small British Island off the coast of France. Jersey cow milk is known for having the highest butterfat levels of all the dairy cow breeds. This is likely the main reason why Jersey milk is the most delicious of all milk.
Getting Ready To Milk
Our cows are milked with a sterilized stainless steel milking machine.
Bob Attaching the Milking Machine
Bob first cleans and sterilizes the cows udder before attaching the milking machine.
Milking With A Vacuum
The milking machine is run by a gentle pulsating vacuum that moves the milk from the cow’s udder into a sterile stainless steel pipe.
Transferring the Milk
The stainless steel pipe transfers the milk into a glass jar located in what is called the “Milk House”.
Storing the Milk
In the Milk House the milk from the glass jar goes into a large sterile cooling tank. The milk is never exposed to open air during the entire process.
Yummy Milk For You
In New York State, by law, Raw Milk (defined as milk that has had no processing done to it) can only be sold to a customer direct from the cooling tank, in all its natural glory.
